In my opinion, the Germans have always had a particularly keen sensibility for many things imported from the U.S., and particularly for jazz. Some of the most important contributions to European jazz were made by German musicians like the ones I mention here, and many others, like Hans Koller and Attila Zoller, the latter born in Hungary but always associated with the German jazz scene.
